Eco Fun: Making a Notebook
Usually, we all have many loose papers lying around the house. These are different shapes, sizes, and colors. We can gather them and help the kids make a notebook for their drawings or for other activities. This way, the paper gets one more use before recycling.
To complement this activity, you can use our free coloring worksheets to learn more about recycling and cleaning our planet.
Ask the children to make a notebook at home and to bring it to school. Compare the size, shape, and color of the notebooks. Ask the kids to draw pictures of Ge, Tricky and Oinky.
Materials: Any loose papers, different shapes, sizes, colors; Scissors; Hole punch; Twine; Paints and brushes
And Now What?
Gather all the loose papers.
According to each kid's wishes, the parent should either cut the paper in one single size or leave the paper at different sizes creating a messy, irregular notebook with papers of different sizes.
Have the kids organize the papers in one stock. They can order them as they please.
Punch holes into the paper on one side.
Tie knots with the twine through each hole to make a notebook. Don’t make it too tight, so they can easily flip the pages.
Let the kids decorate the first page. Help them write down their name.
In the coloring worksheets, they can find all the Green Rank eco-heroes. Ask the kids to draw all three characters Ge, Tricky and Oinky, in their new notebook.
